I don't usually use it because the best that usually available are the locals Terrapin, Sweetwater, ABC and others. The pick six is not as useful as other smaller, more micro focused stores, but it is a great idea since sometimes people get lucky with some great additions to the rack. Not an overall surprising selection but it rotates enough to keep it interesting. In between (a good 6 doors worth) are mostly micro's from around the country (got my first DFH60 and others here). On the opposite end is a couple of doors of macros. There is a couple of cooler doors worth of Belgians, bombers, and 40's. But for $10 a case at times (old Lakefront Brewery Holiday Spice Lager was one I picked up). Many of the times I've been there, there is usually a deal on cases that they need to get rid of.

Cases of well known companies line the aisles. Most all of the variety of beer is kept in coolers on the longest wall as you walk in. It has served my needs from gathering supplies for parties to checking over any new microbrews I'd like to try. Not only is it conveniently located, but it actually has quite a good selection. I'll definitely be heading back.Īs a student at Georgia Tech, I guess I'm pretty close to being a regular at Mac's. Overall though, not higher than anywhere else I've seen, so it's not bad and it's certainly reasonable. Value: The pricing is interesting - there's a cash price and a credit price, so it behooves the customer to have a roll with him/her. They've got a fair amount of local stuff, though, so that's pretty exciting as I'll be able to tick away some of these breweries and hopefully find some new faves to stock the fridge with at times. One thing I was mostly impressed about though is that they have Lost Abbey, so when I'm shopping to replenish my beer stash, I'm going to be picking up some of the big ones. Quality: Plenty of good stuff on the hard alcohol side of things beer offerings are tough for me to get excited about after coming from the greater Cincinnati area and getting to shop at the Party Source all the time. Concrete floors and wall to wall/aisle to aisle booze - not a bad thing, but it doesn't scream unique, warm and inviting, so yeah, take it for what its worth. I would definitely recommend stopping by. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place is. Similar pricing system to Greene's in the cash/debit is one price and credit card price is slightly higher.

Prices seem pretty close or even lower than Green's. Looked like most of the clerks were from Ga.

Everyone was willing to help and I watched them make educated recommendations to people that had genuine questions about picking out a beer. He's a nice guy and seems to know his beer quite well. I met the beer manager Alan (Allen? Alen? Allan?) and chatted with him for a while. There were even some beers I hadn't seen at Greene's yet, like Highland's new lager. All the locals and SE beers, good variety of Victory beers, Stoudts, DFH, Left Hand to name a few breweries. Good selection of Belgians and quality imports. Most everything looked like it was turning over good enough to keep dust off the bottles. They seem to stock that from either the mixed 12-packs from the breweries or just breaking up six packs. A good selection in the mixed six section, it is not made up of leftovers or odd bottles. Last time I was there I remembered they had a "mix-a-six" section, which is the main reason I stopped by. Larger 12-packs and cases were well organized out on the floor. Quite a good beer selection with most of the 6-packs and bombers in coolers along the back wall.
